El Pedregal, an enormous territory of rugged nature, splendid, but for thousands of years evaded, uninhabited and even devalued, was the scene of the flourishing of incredible gardens and remarkable projects of modern Mexican architecture. There, a migrant couple and their family became one of the first settlers of the Jardines del Pedregal land in the late 1940s. On this fourth visit of Parallel landscapes, we invite you to get to know the Max Cetto Studio House, the first house in the Jardines del Pedregal subdivision of San Ángel, designed by the German architect Max Cetto, in which he projects a synthesis of modernity, tradition, daring, experience and experimentation with the natural environment.
In the last two decades, the house housed several inhabitants and even institutions seeking to adapt to their time. It is currently inhabited by its original family, who also seek its preservation, keeping alive the ideals and precepts of Max Cetto. On this tour with the help of Julián Arroyo Cetto, architect, grandson of Max Cetto and current resident of the house, you will be able to learn not only the architectural aspects of this project, but also the daily and domestic life that has been given and created in that house over the more than 70 years of its history.
