We continue in 2026 with our Art and Architecture Derives program, featuring a talk with Diana Morales in which we explore the career of Ruth Rivera Marín.
This talk aims to trace the career of Ruth Rivera Marín to understand a key figure in 20th-century Mexican architecture. Through various stages, the narrative connects her education and teaching, collaborations on cultural projects, heritage management, and professional networks. The purpose is for the historical archive to serve as the driving force of the narrative: images, documents, and audio excerpts from lectures will create an immersive experience of listening and viewing, transforming her biography into a journey and her legacy into an open path for rethinking museums, heritage, and the city.
A Mexican architect, she graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She conducts historical and iconographic research related to properties listed for their artistic value. Her research also focuses on projects for disseminating audio, audiovisual, and photographic archives with the aim of preserving and promoting documentary heritage. She participated in the editing of the Guía de la Colonia Juárez. Inventario de un patrimonio, el Glosario ilustrado de la Colonia Juárez, Diego Rivera. De viva voz, con el pincel y la pluma; among other editorial projects.
She complements her professional training with diplomas in Architectural Criticism, Architectural Photography, Digital Humanities and Arts, and Document Management and Archival Administration.
