Why another photo? From the archive to personal projects: vintage photography and contemporary practices, is a 5-day workshop taught by Alex Dorfsman that invites you to explore the archive as a creative engine, transforming existing images into new visual stories.
Today, we are immersed in a deluge of photographic and moving images. Amidst this vast universe, we can feel overwhelmed and lost regarding the true value of an image.
We might suddenly ask ourselves, why produce more photographs? And without a concrete answer, we can explore the idea of what can be done with existing photographs.
We will discover the endless possibilities for creating creative narratives from existing, collected photographs, which now become new statements, new and different stories.
Throughout this course, we will explore one of the most important paradigms in the history of art and photography: the archive as part of the creative process.
