A large-format, immersive and dynamic experience, composed of 5,200 suspended light points to create sensations of presence and movement within a physical space.

Submergence is a walk-through installation by the Squidsoup collective. It consists of a space with 5,200 points of light suspended from thin, vertical ropes, which respond to the viewer's presence, creating a sense of movement and an immersive experience.

Submergence transformed the Arte Abierto space into a hybrid environment, where the virtual and physical worlds converged. The work was activated through a play of light and color in correspondence with sound. This dynamic sensation created an abstract narrative that escalated to a climax. The audience who entered the piece had the opportunity to experience light, sound, and space.

Submergence is a Squidsoup project, created by Anthony Rowe, Gaz Bushell, Liam Birtles, Ollie Bown, and Chris Bennewith. It has been presented in more than 70 spaces and events around the world.
